The gift of life and every living moment constantly inspires us to reach out and help. At SPARSH we do not consider this as an obligation but as an opportunity to touch the lives of the people.
With its rapid economic growth, India has never been in a better place. This is reflected by positive investor sentiment, a growing consumer class and growth of social and economic indices. Sectors across the board are beginning to see this and healthcare is no exception.
Indian medical professionals and nursing staff are recognised globally for their clinical and research skills and patient care. Domestically the healthcare sector has boomed. India is emerging as the leading hub for inbound international patients who come with the assurance of getting the same level and quality of healthcare they get in their countries of origin, at a far more competitive cost.
SPARSH Hospital was set up with a single minded proposition - to develop a healthcare practice that sets a new benchmark for quality, consistency and delivery of healthcare services while developing a way to make it affordable and accessible to all. Patient orientation, social responsibility and best in class clinical practice and research will remain its cornerstones.
We believe this is a winning model and we are focused on getting this right.
For instance to remain focused on our social responsibility we have a dedicated foundation, SPARSH Foundation, a non profit arm of the hospital.
We launched Hejje Guruthu - the free sustainable club foot treatment programme in partnership with the Government of Karnataka focusing on the identification, correction and treatment of club foot.
Children in Need - An intervention programme which funds cases where children require complex and extensive clinical intervention. A case that we did last year on an ischiopagus twin, Laxmi Tatma, made headlines worldwide due to its uniqueness and complexity. This is a programme that we are committed to expanding in scope. These are a few of the several initiatives that SPARSH Foundation has undertaken.
Our clinical milestones have been just as encouraging. We now have the fastest growing arthoplasty practice in the state. Our orthopaedic services has been set up structurally to ensure development of all our orthopaedic sub specialities likes paediatric orthopaedics, shoulder and sports medicine, spine care, arthoplasty and tumour orthopaedics with a lead orthopaedic surgeon driving the development of each of these.
The microvascular and plastic services unit is focused on creating a centre of excellence in this speciality with some unique cases to its credit. In addition to this with the development of the cosmetic surgery unit the microvascular and plastic services unit is now an integrated full service unit.
These are exciting times for SPARSH Hospital. I am confident that as an institution we will live up to what we set out to do and build our own unique brand of healthcare. And in the bargain, if our hospital gets recognised as an institution that changed the way healthcare was delivered then that would be an added bonus.
