Overview
Dr. Kilara has been a Radiation Oncologist for over three decades now. In 1991, he performed the First Iridium Brachytherapy in Karnataka and in 1993, he performed the First 192-Iridium Brain Implant Brachytherapy in India.
He was instrumental in planning and establishment of Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, New Delhi. In 1995, he spearheaded ISO-9002 recognition of BMT programme in HCG Curie Centre of Oncology.
He performed the first Stereotactic Radiosurgery, Stereotactic Radiotherapy and 3- D Conformal Therapy in Karnataka between 2003 and 2004.
He was also the first in Karnataka to do the Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT). In 2009, he was the first to use Cyberknife for Whole body Robotic Stereotactic Radiosurgery.
